Newcomerstown, OH – On Sunday, September 1st, Newcomerstown Middle School marked its 100th anniversary with a joyous celebration attended by students, staff, alumni, and community members. The building, originally constructed in 1923 as the high school, opened its doors to students a year later, and has since become a cornerstone of education in the community.
Principal Brian Collins, Superintendent Jason Peoples, Mayor Patrick Cadle, and State Representative Al Landis all spoke at the event, highlighting the school’s rich history and impact on generations of students. The celebration also featured a special performance by the alumni band, joining forces with the current marching band for a memorable musical tribute.
Members of the Lone Star Masonic Lodge #175 were also in attendance, showcasing the community's widespread support for this educational milestone. The event served as a reminder of the enduring legacy of Newcomerstown Middle School and its commitment to providing quality education for the next 100 years.
